Fostering is a tremendously rewarding experience and it is truly incredible to watch a foster dog who comes into rescue scared, insecure, and broken, transform into a confident and well-adjusted dog prior to going to their forever home. However, fostering is not without unique challenges and heartache and it can also be very trying at times as each foster family works through behavioral, emotional, and physical problems in order to rehabilitate and set each gentle giant up for long-term success.
The Foster Blog was created in order to provide a central location and sounding board for foster families to share advice, ideas, and even funny stories. The goal is to encourage and help each other to stay focused on our mission and goal as a rescue and to help as many giant breed dogs as possible together as a team! Through sharing special stories and helpful hints, our hope is that we can all be reminded why we make the sacrifices we do on a daily basis in order to help these dogs receive the tools they need to be successful in their forever homes!
